Galan Moody

Galan Moody is an Associate Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Prior to this, he was a Research Scientist (2015-2019) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Boulder, Colorado, and a National Research Council postdoctoral fellow at NIST (2013-2015). He received a PhD in Physics (2013) and a BSc in Engineering Physics (2008) from the University of Colorado Boulder. He is a recipient of a US Air Force Young Investigator Program award (2020) and an NSF CAREER award (2021). He serves as a thrust co-lead and on the executive committee for UCSB’s NSF Quantum Foundry, chairs program committees for several conferences including FiOLS and CLEO, and he is on the editorial board for PRX Quantum and IOP’s Journal of Physics: Photonics.
